Show your location on a map
Your site's contact section includes a Google Maps box and a View on Map button. Visitors see your exact location on the map; when they tap the button, your location opens in Google Maps and they can get directions with one click. There's no setup required and no paid service involved — the map builds automatically from your address.
How does the map get filled in?
Either one of these methods is enough:
- If you picked your business from Google when you created your site, the map is ready to go. When you typed your business name and selected it from the list, Google's exact location for that business appears on the map; the View on Map button opens your Google business page directly (with reviews and your photos).
- If you entered your address through the control panel, the map shows your address:
- In the control panel, go to Settings.
- Open the Business Details page.
- On the Address & Billing tab, fill in your street address, city, and postal code.
- Click the Save changes button.
The moment you save, the map updates both in the editor and on your live site — you don't need to republish your site.
If no address is entered, the map and button won't show at all on your site. That's by design: it's better to show no map than to show visitors a wrong or sample location. The map only appears when a real address is ready.
Changing the button text
You can edit the View on Map label in the editor: open the editor, click the button in your contact section, and type new text — for example, "Find us" or "Get directions".
If your address changes, just update it from Settings › Business Details — the address text, footer, and map in your contact section all update together.
