Sell with your Etsy shop

If you have an Etsy shop, your site can be its storefront: your products appear on your site with prices, the Buy button takes the customer to your Etsy listing, and payment completes on Etsy. Orders and their status appear in your Wibigo panel.

This approach also reduces your Etsy commission — explained below.

How to set up

  1. Open Settings > Selling > How do you want to sell? screen.
  2. Select the Sell with Etsy card.
  3. If your shop isn't connected yet, a Connect your Etsy shop button appears in the card. Click it, then in the window that opens, authorize with your Etsy account.
  4. Select and import your products (Import from Etsy step).
  5. Confirm your selection with Save changes.

When you save, you'll see Sales setup updated on the screen. You can switch to another sales infrastructure whenever you want.

Why does your commission go down?

The Buy buttons on your site use Etsy's Share & Save trackable link. When a customer comes through this link and places an order, Etsy reduces the order total by 4% from their invoice. Etsy's 6.5% transaction fee on this order drops to 2.5%.

You don't need to do anything for this; the links are automatically generated from your shop name.

note

The discount applies based on the last link the customer clicked and covers orders within 30 days of clicking. If the customer clicks your link and then clicks an Etsy ad, the discount won't apply to that order.

What does your customer see?

  • On product cards and in the product window, the button reads Buy on Etsy.
  • When they click it, your Etsy listing opens in a new tab; the cart and checkout steps proceed on Etsy.
  • They won't see a cart icon on your site — because payment completes on Etsy, there's no need for a cart.

Orders and reviews

Orders from Etsy go into the Orders tab in your panel; customer information is added to your customer list. When an order ships, is delivered, or is canceled, the status updates automatically. Details: Manage your orders.

You can bring your Etsy shop's customer reviews to your site: after product import completes, a Bring your Etsy reviews to your site button appears. The reviews are written to your site's customer reviews section.

note

Etsy doesn't provide customer names to apps. Reviews appear with their rating and text, but show "Etsy customer" instead of a name.

Where do you edit product information?

When you sell via Etsy, your products belong to Etsy: price, stock, title, and photos come from your Etsy listing and can't be edited in the Wibigo panel. The panel shows you a link that opens the listing on Etsy.

Stock and prices refresh automatically, at most every six hours. If you close or delete a listing on Etsy, the product drops from your site and stays marked in the panel.

If you want to price your products yourself and sell through Wibigo's own payment system, simply switch to Sell with Wibigo; at that moment, your products become your copy and are editable.

What happens if you disconnect?

When you disconnect your Etsy account from the Settings > Connected Accounts page:

  • Your sales infrastructure switches to Sales off.
  • The Buy on Etsy buttons disappear from your site — visitors are no longer sent to Etsy.
  • The products you imported won't be deleted; they stay on your site and become your copy.

Products not on Etsy

If your catalog has products that don't have Etsy listings (like ones you added manually), they can't be purchased in this mode: your customer sees a Get Quote button for those products and reaches out to you. If you want to sell everything from one place, either add those products to Etsy or switch to Sell with Wibigo.
