Why can't I edit my Shopify products?
When you open a product you imported from your Shopify store in the Wibigo panel, you notice the fields are locked and you see a warning at the top saying This product is managed through Shopify. This isn't a bug — it's intentional.
Why are they locked?
A product's price and inventory should have one single source of truth. If you're selling through Shopify, your customer pays through Shopify, so the real price and real inventory are kept there.
If we allowed you to edit in the Wibigo panel, the two records would drift apart: your site might show 250 TRY while the payment page shows 300 TRY, or a sold-out product might appear available on your site. Instead, Wibigo shows Shopify's data exactly as it is.
Where do you make the edits?
- Open the product in the Wibigo panel.
- Click the Edit on Shopify button in the warning box at the top — it opens that product's Shopify page directly.
- Make the change in Shopify and save.
- Return to Wibigo. The change will reflect automatically within a few seconds.
Price, inventory, product name, description, photos, and variants all come this way.
If you want to see the change immediately, you can go to Settings → Connected Accounts → Shopify and click Check for changes. You'll see a list of what will change before it's applied.
The only thing you can edit in Wibigo
The Hide on site / Show on site button inside the warning box. This is a display decision: if you want a product to stay on Shopify but not be visible on your site, you use this button.
If you want to take complete ownership of the product
You have two options:
- Switch your sales infrastructure to Wibigo. Go to Sales Tools → Sales Infrastructure and select Sell with Wibigo — your products become your copy and all fields unlock. From that point, syncing with Shopify stops — the products are now yours.
- Disconnect a single product. If a product was deleted on Shopify, the warning box will show a Disconnect and reopen button; the product becomes a local copy and you can edit it freely.
If you switch back to Sell with Shopify later, connected products will re-sync and the current Shopify data will replace any edits you made in Wibigo. You'll see this warning on screen before you save.
Product is in the panel but missing from my site
If a product has a Deleted on Shopify label, it means the product was deleted on the Shopify side. Wibigo removes it from your site but keeps it in the panel — if you accidentally deleted it, you won't lose the data. Use Disconnect and reopen to restore it, or Delete to remove it permanently.
